Ronan (ronopotamus), 24, I play poi, a little bit of staff and meteor, and starting to dabble in contact juggling

Biggified in the south west of Ireland, I have no idea what i was doing with all my time before I discovered poi and in turn juggling and other manipulationisms.....

Saw a girl playing with fire at a beach party in Galway, November 2001, was hypnotised by the "butterfly" bouncing off itself and promptly started scouring the internet for tutorials..... some time later I had almost learnt all of the HOP lessons and though I was nearly finished.... :) I soon started going to juggling conventions, meeting other spinners and realising that there is no limit to how far we can go. I blame it on the butterfly.

Who?

Antti Suniala. Half man, half amazing. Tall dark and handsome, all that and then some. Loves hip hop nostalgy, vegan food, Canadian singer/songwriters, performing, travelling and meeting people, sitting home alone and being miserable. Somehow figured that juggling firestaves was the way and decided to see where it went.

Why everything?

One of my first performances was winning the school masquerade in the 6th grade. Only later I understood that it took a lot of balls to dance as a lambada girl infront of the whole school when you’re 12 years old.

Who am I?
Well that's a very good question. I'm matt terry, born in 1979, started juggling when i was ickle, played diabolo for a while in my teens thanks to the good old Sidmouth Folk festival in devon. Rediscovered both at about 18 after a little time out. Finally discovered poi in 2000. I was at burningman at the time, i saw lots of people spinning and felt a strange notion that i already knew how to do it. Went hard out learning and teaching straight away. I was in my final year at uni at the time, spent more time spinning than working, great meditation.

Learnt many skills in the london scene. Took many crazy skills back to burningman the following year. Then in 2002 at burningman span in the conclave alongside Pyrosutra from Seatle.

who?

Nick Woolsey, poi dude extraordinarilywellknown, put up some very well received poi spinning videos a few years back. He was subsequently arrested by aliens and spent some hard time in an industrial mine on pluto. He was brought back to earth occasionally to teach poi workshops at various locations around the planet. He started spinning spring 2001. People mostly didn't know what hyper-loops were back then.

who?

meg / mcp, 24 from Scotland. Black, Thick, Coarse hair like a bathroom scourer.

Spinning for three years and enjoys contact staff and double staff mostly. She will not admit to spinning poi.

Loves spinning too much, to the detriment of practically everything else in her life.

Particularly she enjoys tricks that are extremely difficult while simultaneously being very simple.

Rob Thorburn is quite tall. Not very tall, but not short either.

He plays with any toy given to him, and teaches poi, staff, double staff, juggling, stlitwalking, contact juggling and probably other things too…

He learned to juggle in 1999, and it has been a long, slow downhill from there.
